An April Comeback
It's been almost 4 months since my last post from this blog... sorry i'm procrastinating. ;)
Seriously, it's partly true.
Just an update, I've started working last January as a Consultant in a startup company with Open Source ERP and CRM systems as our main offerings. I'll just have to work hard to be able to survive on my new found career hehe.
About my own business? Well, I believe it's not yet time. But i'll get there... for sure.

Starting My Own Business
Business
I am already at the process of bootstrapping my own service business. It's an IT services kind of business which offers Linux services for small businesses, IT Outsourcing, and Computer repair, maintenance, and networking. Marketing is through referrals. Giving others the opportunity to earn residual income just by referring someone to avail of our services. 10% of the service fee will be given to those people who referred clients which made a successful transaction/s with us. A database will be created to track referrers clients so that each time that same client ask for our services again, that same referrer will again get 10% of the service fee (and the same process will continue for as long as the business is in operation). The 10% is really the cost of advertising in some companies and since they're the one doing it for me I'd rather pay them than pay for advertisement. It's a Win-Win system. I'd also be thinking of ways to add more value for my clients to distinguish my business with others who has the same business like I do.
Influences
These are the lists of books and people which greatly impacts the creation of this business. I know this might be irrelevant. But I just want to stress out that this business has some foundations on it and not just something which came out on a whim or something.
The E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber
USP (Unique Selling Proposition) and Instant Referrals by Brad Sugars
Bootstrappers Bible and 99 Cows by Seth Godin
Guerrilla Marketing by Jay Conrad Levinson
The Art of the Start by Guy Kawasaki
Cashflow Quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki
Steve Pavlina's podcast on Starting your own business
and others that I can't remember right now :)
Skills
I am a Computer Technician (8+ years) turned Systems/Network administrator (5+ years). Specializing in Windows, Linux, and BSD systems. A knowledge of web development using the Ruby on Rails web-development Framework and a strong advocate of the Zimbra Open Source Collaboration Suite email system.
Cashflow
The core of the business is on Linux consultancy services wherein small businesses will pay monthly retainership fee for the installation and maintenance of their Linux systems. IT Outsourcing and PC maintenance is next. But the initial cashflow will come from computer related services (installation, repair, networking, etc.) which is actually an in demand service. We just have to know how to reach those people and businesses effectively.

About 50sheets (GREEN APPLE)
This is officially my first blog post. I have always wanted to blog to express myself but wasn't confident enough with my English and grammar. So, I decided to enhance them both before I go on blogging. After a few months, my English and grammar hasn't improved. It was due to the fact that I haven't taken any action to really learn them (procrastination).
An advice from an article on "How to become a good writer", suddenly changed my focus. It says that to become a good writer you have to write more. I thought to myself, why not start blogging and get some comments and feedbacks with my English and grammar and learn along the way. Thus, this blog was born.
So, what is this blog really about? I'd like to express myself with this experimental blog. This will be my personal journal. My current thoughts, emotional states, personal development, and financial freedom journey. To sum it all up, Life in general. :)
Why 50sheets as a name and GREEN APPLE as a title? Actually, my first choice is "hecknotes" and the title is something like, "Just Post It!" or "What the heck! Post It!". But during the blog creation and while still thinking of a better blog name than "hecknotes", I suddenly glance at my small green notebook where I used to write notes, tasks, todo lists, etc. And the name of the notebook suddenly struck me (maybe because my favorite color is green and I'm a fan of Apple computers... whatever, It really caught my attention). GREEN APPLE (printed in all caps) is the name of the small notebook with a green apple just before it. And on the lower part of the cover prints "50 sheets". Sweet!
Wow! I've finally made my first official post (in 40 minutes, more or less).
I appreciate for any feedbacks and comments especially with my English and grammar.
Thanks a lot!
